Carrier Sekani Family ServicesWalk Tall Expansion ProjectThe Walk Tall Expansion Project will provide an elder/youth mentorship program and monthly youth events for Aboriginal youth in care in Vanderhoof and the surrounding area. Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) Walk Tall staff will work with First Nation's communities surrounding Vanderhoof to identify elders who would be interested in mentoring Aboriginal youth in the community. Elders and youth will be paired together in structured and facilitated mentor groups offered bi-weekly for one year. $20,000
Usma Nuu chah nulth Family & Child ServicesCultural & Relational Permanency- AhousahtTo introduce the Mockingbird Family Model (MFM) to Ahousaht. MFM provides the Host Agency (Usma) with the training needed to start a "constellation" of homes in Ahousaht. Within the constellation, there is a "Hub Home" and 6-10 "satellite homes". The hub home caregiver(s) are leaders & organizer of the satellite homes. The hub home organizes training, group activities,social activities, coaching, advocacy, support and relief to the homes in the constellation. $20,000

Adoptive Families Association of BC (Vancouver)Speak Out Youth: Family FindingTo facilitate the forming of permanent relationships for youth by developing networks of family members and supportive adults within their community. Group and one-on-one work with a trained Family Finder will be undertaken.$20,000
Circle of Indigenous Nations Society (Castlegar)Metis Traditional Parenting and HealingTo support physical/relational permanency of Aboriginal Children/youth in the region by offering parenting and personal healing groups for parents whose children/youth are in the care of MCFD. The program will offer 24 parenting/personal healing sessions in three communities. The sessions will include traditional practices, healthy food, parenting support and various ceremonies.$6,500
Sasamans Society (Campbell River)Aboriginal Youth NavigatorTo enhance service provision, provide advocacy and ensure that Aboriginal Youth are aware of services available once they age out of Ministry care. Navigators will assit youth in creating safe, stable, healthy, long-term living arrangements and assist in developing and securing relationships with family and community.$23,500
Urban Native Youth Association (Vancouver)Mentorship and Kinnections ProgramTo connect Aboriginal youth aged 12-19 with trained volunteer mentors who help the youth identify and set goals and prepare for the transition into adulthood. Youth and mentor meet regularly for a full year and hopefully establish a lifelong permanent relationship. Tranining includes addictions, sexual exploitation, mental health, cultural awareness.$10,000
